Accommodation

Full details of UCL student accommodation, application procedures and advice about living in London can be found on the UCL Student Accommodation web page.

Careers service

UCL Careers Service offers comprehensive careers information and advice plus a varied events programme. The Slade has its own designated Careers Adviser.

Disability support

UCL Disability, Mental Health and Wellbeing provide an advisory service to all UCL students with support needs. Applicants with seriously restricted mobility should note that the Slade building might cause them difficulties, although there is a lift linking all main floors. Prior to submitting an application, disabled students who might require the provision of specially adapted facilities should contact a Disability, Mental Health and Wellbeing adviser to discuss their individual needs. Applicants can telephone +44 (0)20 7679 0100 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) to arrange an appointment, and current students can contact the team through the askUCL enquiry system.

Faculty information

We are part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Information and resources for students are available on the Faculty SharePoint (student login required).

Information systems

UCL Information Services provides central IT facilities, cluster rooms and network, together with a wide range of IT support activities and training. All students are issued with their own computer account including email when they enrol.

Slade Student SharePoint

All Slade students have access to our Student SharePoint with information about timetables, technical facilities and resources to support your studies (student login required).

Student representation

The Slade has a Staff/Student Committee which meets regularly to discuss all matters relating to the education and welfare of students and includes student representatives from all areas of the School. Two of its members are also elected to sit on the Slade Academic Planning Committee and represent undergraduate and graduate student issues respectively.

Student welfare

UCL Support and Wellbeing has team of expert wellbeing, disability and mental health staff to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, in which you can discuss any issues that may be affecting your ability to study. All of UCL's support services are free of charge and open to all UCL students of all levels. Within the Slade, personal tutors and the undergraduate and graduate tutors provide academic and often personal support throughout the programme. The Academic Manager can also help on many matters, financial, personal or academic.

At UCL the Dean of Students co-ordinates all aspects of student support at University level and is available to give individual advice to students about personal, academic, financial and social problems. All students can also access the UCL Union Rights and Advice Centre. UCL also has a National Health Service General Practice, Dental Practice, Student Psychological and Counselling Services and Day Nursery.
