My paintings are slithers of substance. They are images that occupy flimsy bodies. They are precarious hosts that carry paint as if it were gaudy make-up. By flitting between three-dimensional and two-dimensional modes, I disrupt their framing and allow the exterior world to infiltrate their territory. Their painted surfaces are freeze-frames of flippant character. Their accumulative effect describes a malleable identity that restlessly transforms in a futile attempt to escape its material presence.
