IOSH Managing Safely - IL
Course Description:
4 day IOSH-approved training workshop.

The course provides a broad-based understanding of both the legislative requirements and management tools and techniques. This course is primarily provided as an in-house event.

Managing Safely has been developed by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) the world's biggest professional health and safety membership organisation to address the safety and training needs of the non-health and safety expert.

Modules:

  • Assessing risks
  • Controlling risks
  • Understanding responsibilities
  • Understanding hazards
  • Investigating incidents
  • Measuring performance

    Assessment:
    Learners are assessed by sitting a short 25 question multi-format examination and completing a practical work-based risk assessment project. Successful completion will result in the award of an IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
  • Objectives:

    Managing Safely is designed for managers, supervisors and others within an organisation who have a responsibility for managing the health and safety of others. By the end of the course the Learners will be able to:


  • Maintain a fundamental understanding of the principal legislative requirements.
  • Be able to apply principle management practices to health and safety at work.
  • Know how to set practicable objectives and implement plans to meet them.
  • Recognise common health and safety hazards and types of risk controls available.
  • Understand the principles of risk assessment.
  • Be able to investigate an incident to determine causes and remedial actions

    Managing Safely is designed for managers, supervisors and others within an organisation who have a responsibility for managing the health and safety of others. UCL Staff only
