Course Description:

Fundamentals in Research Funding Management is an introductory post-award training course aimed at staff who support or hold externally funded Research and Innovation projects at UCL. The course is broken down into four easy digestible inter-active units:
  • Setting out the funder landscape.
  • Focus on new awards.
  • Optimising funding in line with funder expectations.
  • Managing the Unexpected.


Objectives:

On this course you will learn to:
  • Understand the importance of good research management
  • Recognise when an award has been granted and how to get started
  • Understand the importance of being familiar with Funders requirements
  • Understand how to optimise research income and provide assurance to Funders of sound financial management
  • Recognise the criticality of understanding the external perspective
  • Raise awareness of complexity and risk factors
  • Raise awareness of the importance of active change management

Professional Service staff who support Research Funding Management, UCL Research Staff & PG Research Students
