In 2020 we installed 1000 new cycle parking spaces across campus and Bloomsbury Estate, transformed two locations into bicycle hubs to act as secure parking, and started a trial of bike hangars.

This interactive map shows you where to find cycle parking spaces and cycle-hire racks across Bloomsbury, as well as the location of showers and lockers in UCL buildings.
- Campus bike hangars
- Together with the Logistics team, Sustainable UCL has installed four bike hangars on UCL's main campus, which provide secure locking for staff who regularly cycle to UCL. These are being trialled and following review, UCL may look to install additional hangars. Each hangar allows for 6 bicycles to be locked securely.
Where: 1x Andrew Huxley Building Entrance, 2x Turning Circle outside Medawar Building, 1x Print Room Café Entrance. View the map above to see locations on campus.
Who: Staff only.
Access: The bike hangars are only accessible to key holders.
Currently, all spaces have been allocated, please see our other cycle parking locations below.
- Cycle parking racks
Over the summer closure, UCL has installed 200+ cycle racks across campus and Bloomsbury Estate. Adding to the existing 800 racks, there are now over 1000 bicycle parking spaces across the campus and UCL buildings.
Purpose: Short Stay.
Where: All locations can be found on the cycle map above.
Who: Staff and Students.
Access: Freely available.
- Lockers
Smart Lockers are available at the Student Centre on Level B2, Mezzanine, Level 2 and Level 4. These can be used by students, with their student cards. View more information on UCL Lockers for Students.

Where: 27-28 Gordon Square, WC1H 0AH.
Who: Students only.
Access: Student card access.
- Logistics Zone Bike Hub
The UCL Logistics Zone, at Gordon Square (by the Archaeology building), has been transformed into a bicycle hub. This provides 100 spaces for locking bicycles. The zone is staffed by a logistics team member between 7am-7pm, but has 24 hour access.
Available from 01 September 2021.
- All bicycles must be locked to the racks within the compound;
- Bikes cannot be left for extended period but must be taken away on the same day.
Purpose: Short stay and all-day parking for the main campus and Gordon Square.
Where: 31-34 Gordon Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1H 0PY.
Who: Students.
Access: Individuals simply use staff/student card at the entrance opposite the Archaeology entrance to access the area.
- Ramsay Hall
130 spaces have been provided in the courtyard of Ramsay Hall. These can be used for work-time parking for staff and students who are based at Ramsay Hall and nearby buildings. Ramsay Hall will be staffed between 0800-19:00 from Mon-Fri. The entrance is on 20 Maple Street. Staff and students need to use the intercom on the left-hand side to call through to reception for them to open the gate door and wheel the bicycle through.
Purpose: Short stay and day-long parking for those studying at Ramsay Hall and working studying in nearby buildings.
Where: 20 Maple Street, W1T 5HB.
Who: Staff and Students.
Access: Users currently need to use the intercom. We are in the process of creating card access for staff and students, which will remove the need to ask reception staff for access.
