Un modello esplicito per il comportamento pedonale
by Elvezia Cepolina & Nick Tyler
Sommario
Abstract
In this paper the general structure of an explicit model of the pedestrian
behaviour has been introduced. In particular, the authors have described
in detail a model of the space that every pedestrian desires to have free
around him when in motion. The pedestrian requirement for such space -
"comfort" - is a powerful element affecting the planning of a public transport
system, especially at and around interchange zones because it affects the
notion and value of capacity. The formulation and object-oriented structure
of the model is suitable for characterizing different consumers with different
requirements. The paper discusses how the simulation model therefore allows
an evaluation of the level of service offered by the system, not only in
response to the traffic demand (through the flow characteristics), but
to each single pedestrian or family of pedestrians (disabled with wheelchair,
children, etc.). Finally a sensitivity analysis to appraise the influence
on the simulation output of the parameters describing in the model the
desire of space, has been presented.
The model described has been developed through the PhD thesis of E.
M. Cepolina. Unfortunately the work cannot be described in its entirety
in a single article. Therefore in this paper the authors have decided to
describe in depth one of the essential parts of the model, making reference
to its general structure and mentioning in passing the other elements of
the model. These will be the subject of further publications.
