Promoting Accessible Transport for mobility-impaired people in Hackney
(PATH)
Funding
Bridge House Estates Trust Fund
Description
This project has developed a special accessible minibus service (the "Hackney
Plusbus") which provides transport to mobility-impaired people in Hackney.
A second element of this project has designed and implemented a transport
co-ordination centre for mobility-impaired people in Hackney. This
enables them to obtain accessible transport when and where they want without
the need for extensive pre-booking. The special bus service is one of the
services available to the co-ordination centre. The original services has
recently been re-routed following the award of funding to Hackney Community
Transport for a second Plusbus service. We are currently updating the accessible
information about both services. More services are expected to start during
2001.
