- Develop a partnership with UCL:
- For innovators (academic and clinicians) wishing to work with NHS
- In the UK, the Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) bring together the NHS, industry, academia, third sector and local organisations. They have 15 partners and in UCL we are linked to UCLP (Partners). Our purpose and values - UCLPartners UCLP facilitates the relationships and communications between academics and the NHS, to help speed up the translation from the lab to the hospital service.
- NHS Innovation Service. The NHS Innovation Service aims to act as a facilitator between the innovators, UCLP (and other AHSN partners), NIHR, NICE and the MHRA. Innovators can use the service to access bespoke support and to understand the required standards and regulations, the evidence they should demonstrate, and the NHS procurement and reimbursement processes. Your gateway to innovation in the NHS - Innovation Service
- SBRI (Small Business Research Initiative) Healthcare. The SBRI is an initiative set up by NHS England, supported by the AHSNs and managed by the LGC Group. Competitions (funding calls) are run every year with specific themes. SBRI contracts are 100 per cent funded and the inventor retains the Intellectual Property.
Phase 1 contracts for feasibility testing are valued at up to £100,000 and last for six months.
Phase 2 contracts for prototype development are worth up to £1 million over 1 year.
Open Competitions | SBRI Healthcare - NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme (CEP): The NHS CEP, delivered by Anglia Ruskin University, is an initiative set up to help healthcare staff develop the commercial skills, knowledge and experience needed to successfully spread innovation, for the sake of patients, the public, and the wider NHS.
