Obstetric anesthesia My research focuses on the cardiovascular effects, using non-invasive cardiac output monitoring, of vasopressors and different types of fluid used to treat spinal anaesthesia induced hypotension during caesarean section. Current research projects include a randomised, double-blind study to compare ECG changes during elective caesarean section when using a phenylephrine or ephedrine infusion, a randomised study to assess the changes in FRC which BMI has in term pregnant women in different positions and a study looking into the molecular mechanism of epidural related maternal fever. |
