British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme 2019-20
9 August 2019
The UCL Institute of Archaeology is supporting applications for British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships with an internal deadline of 16 September 2019 for consideration of applications.
British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded to outstanding early career researchers in the humanities and social sciences to enable them to pursue an independent research project, towards the completion of a significant piece of publishable research.
This year's call is due to open on 21 August. Prospective applicants are advised to identify a suitable mentor in the Institute of Archaeology, and informally discuss a potential application, as soon as possible.
For the Institute review, applicants must complete the online application form via Flexi-Grant, the British Academy Grants Management System, and generate a PDF which should be emailed to Jo Dullaghan, Institute of Archaeology Research Administrator (j.dullaghan@ucl.ac.uk), alongside a CV (max 2 pages, A4) by latest 5pm on Monday 16 September.
The Institute of Archaeology review panel will assess applications on the following criteria only: quality of the individual applicant appropriate to their career stage (peer-reviewed publications etc.), ambition and feasibility of the research proposal, fit of the project with the applicant's existing experience and with current Institute of Archaeology research.
Following the initial review by the Institute of Archaeology panel, selected candidates will then be mentored through the application process by UCL and Institute of Archaeology staff.
- UCL Institute of Archaeology deadline: 5pm on 16 September 2019
