Elizabeth Baquedano interviewed on the history of the looking glass

In a recent episode of the BBC World Service programme - The Forum entitled 'Mirror Mirror on the wall: The history of the looking glass', Elizabeth Baquedano was part of a panel of experts discussing the history of mirrors and their importance in different cultures, highlighting their use in the indigenous cultures of Mesoamerica.

The Forum is the BBC World Service's flagship discussion programme, bringing together prominent thinkers from various disciplines and different parts of the world with the aim of creating stimulating discussion informed by highly distinct academic, artistic, and cultural perspectives.

Elizabeth currently teaches a graduate course at the Institute on Aztec Archaeology which examines the critical boundaries between the historical records, the painted books (codices) and material culture, focusing on the Spanish Chroniclers of Sixteenth Century Mexico. She is the author of Tezcatlipoca: Trickster and Supreme Deity, 2015 (University Press of Colorado).
