Nick Merriman appointed Chief Executive of English Heritage

Congratulations to Nick Merriman (Honorary Professor of Practice, UCL) who has been appointed as the Chief Executive of English Heritage.
Nick Merriman is a former member of staff of the UCL Institute of Archaeology, leading the creation of a university-wide museum service, before becoming Director of the Manchester Museum and currently Chief Executive of the Horniman Museum and Gardens.
Nick oversaw the Horniman Museum's transformational 'Reset Agenda', which led to them being awarded Art Fund Museum of the Year for 2022 - the largest museum prize in the world - for their work to inspire the next generation.
Nick will take up his new role in early 2024 overseeing the national heritage collection of more than 400 historic sites across England.
