In this lecture, followed by a Q&A session, Dr Neil Leach expands on the potential dark side of artificial intelligence, looking at the likely impact of AI not only on the profession of architecture, but also on academia and students themselves.
Biography
Neil Leach, an architect, theorist, and Professor at Florida International University, is the author of the book Architecture in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: An Introduction to AI for Architects (London: Bloomsbury, 2022). On top of FIU, he teaches at the European Graduate School, Switzerland, and Tongji University, China. He has also taught at many other leading schools of architecture, including the Architectural Association, UK and Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, USA. He is a member of the European Academy and has been a NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts Fellow. He has published over 30 books on architecture and digital design, translated into six languages.
