Arthur Kay named Guardian Sustainable Business Leader of the Year
14 August 2015
Bartlett alum Arthur Kay has been named the youngest ever Guardian Sustainable Business Leader of the Year. Arthur (pictured above left) is CEO of bio-bean, a green energy company he founded in 2013 with fellow Bartlett alum Ben Harriman (right) that turns waste coffee into biofuel for industrial use. Arthur came up with the idea for bio-bean while designing a closed loop waste-to-energy system for a building during his time at The Bartlett, for which he chose to design a coffee plant. The company has since grown to 20 and generated over £2m in financing. Arthur has also been named a WIRED Innovation Fellow. Arthur completed the BSc Architecture in 2013 and Ben completed the MArch Architecture in 2012.
