Sense, Deploy, Communicate

Sense, Deploy, Communicate is an annual degree show, featuring final projects by the graduating students of the Connected Environments MSc programme at UCL East. Based within The Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, Connected Environments engages with digital technologies to sense, visualise, and better understand our built and natural environments. The MSc programme is run as a living lab, making use of the surrounding Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to support the development of sensing devices and platforms from concept to prototype and deployment. The projects presented here respond to a brief to ‘sense, deploy and communicate’, and they address a wide range of real-world challenges, from environmental monitoring to augmented living solutions.

The exhibition will take place in the First Floor Gallery at Marshgate, UCL East, 7 Sidings St, London, E20 2AE.

There will be a reception for graduating students and their guests to celebrate the opening of the exhibition on the evening of Friday 23rd August from 18:00 – 20:00, with refreshments.

Connected Environments MSc

The Connected Environments MSc is a new degree at CASA, with a focus on building, coding and deploying devices to sense, communicate and analyse data in relation to our built and natural environments.

The programme meets the need for skills in programming, data capture, visualisation and prototyping with stakeholders to address the challenges of our ever changing environment.

Our unique approach means that our research and teaching are delivered within a living lab environment. With our new location at UCL East, devices are deployed within our building, across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and further afield. We believe in learning through doing, with practice-led teaching to guide you through the building and deployment of physical prototypes.

The course will enable students to enter the emerging market of the Internet of Things, Smart Cities, Future Living, Data Science and Visualisation.
