GISRUK 2013 CASA Prize Winner

The CASA prize for the "Best Paper in Spatial Analysis" in memory of Sinesio Alves Junior at the GISRUK 2013 conference was awarded to Daniel Olner and his co-authors Alison Heppenstall and Gordon Mitchell - all from the University of Leeds.

The paper entitled "Modelling and Visualising the Impacts of Increasing Fuel Costs on the UK Spatial Economy" was picked from over 80 presented at the conference held at the University of Liverpool last week.

A short-list of papers was drawn up by CASA's academic staff and a final decision  based on the quality of the presentation was made at the conference. Daniel combined an important topic with some well-structured analysis and impressive network visualisations to create a winning paper.
