Opportunity for researchers to join UK/Brazil buildings workshop
9 March 2018
Early Career Researchers are invited to apply to join a new UK/Brazil research workshop set up to develop strategies to improve building energy performance.
The UCL Energy Institute and the Laboratory for Energy Efficiency in Buildings at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil, are organising a Newton Fund Research Link workshop focused on energy performance of the building stock.
The workshop will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 23-25 April 2018.
The workshop aims to develop strategies to enable a low carbon transition of the Brazilian building sector towards improved energy performance through better use of energy and building stock data.
It will provide an opportunity for early career and established researchers from the UK, Brazil, and more widely to discuss and present on methodologies and evidence for policy makers to prioritise energy in buildings and demand reduction as a viable part of energy systems planning and carbon reductions.
Funding is available to cover travel and expenses for successful applications from Early Career Researchers in the UK and Brazil (i.e. individuals who received their PhDs in the last 10 years or work in the field and have research experience equivalent to a PhD).
