UCL Energy Institute's Director Professor Neil Strachan was on Sky News earlier this week to comment on the current wave of climate protests:
"The Extinction Rebellion protests are ramping up people's awareness of the need for urgent action on climate change - a global problem that requires both technological and societal change to be solved."
"Although their target for net zero emission by 2025 is infeasible, it spurs the innovation, supply chain refocus, enabling government policies, new technology diffusion, and behavioural change that are all needed to meet the (still ambitious) legislated target of net zero emission by 2050."
