Engagement principles at The Bartlett: Resources for staff and partners.
About the guides
The Bartlett, UCL's Faculty of the Built Environment has developed two guides to support the faculty’s engagement principles in alignment with UCL's guidance on engaging employees, workers and third-party suppliers. These resources are designed to help both staff and external partners navigate engagement processes in ways that align with the faculty’s strategic priorities and core values.
A faculty-wide group of academic and professional services staff collaborated to gather best practices and guidance for engaging small businesses, community-based organisations, and freelancers, key stakeholders in many of the faculty’s activities. The group worked to consolidate this information into one accessible place, helping to streamline engagement and make it easier for everyone involved.
As part of this ongoing effort, we have created two clear and practical engagement principles leaflets:
- One for staff, providing guidance on internal engagement.
- One for partners, specifically aimed at small businesses, community organisations and freelancers, offering practical advice to improve their experiences.
Both leaflets include flowcharts and links to further information and resources to make engagement processes more straightforward.
We encourage users to provide feedback through this dedicated form to help us refine and improve these materials over time. Text-only versions are available on request, and the faculty is actively exploring options for expanding accessible formats for a wider audience.
