About the event

We are in a climate emergency but we have fritted away the years in which we can experiment on how to save carbon and get things wrong. The aim of this talk is to encourage the level of scepticism of new eco building solutions by asking for a reality check on “green” solutions implemented in past decades. By doing this I hope that we can get to the right solutions and minimise the technological dead ends we get into.

About the speaker

Chit Chong is the lead on the delivery of Peabody's zero carbon strategy. He is committed to working for a zero carbon world which our children and grandchildren can be proud of. Chit trained as an engineer and product designer but his work for 25 years has been in reducing the environmental impact of social housing.

Chit has led low carbon retrofit projects, including one of the first retrofits of a Victorian council house in partnership with UCL, managed large scale insulation programmes, installed green roofs and led a truly low carbon district heating project.
