We're hiring: Professor [Chair] of Heritage Evidence, Foresight and Policy

UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage are seeking to recruit a Professor [Chair] of Heritage Evidence, Foresight and Policy.

The UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage (ISH) conducts world-leading research with an international reputation in the fields of sustainable heritage and heritage science. UCL ISH wishes to appoint a scholar of the highest international calibre as Professor of Heritage Evidence, Foresight and Policy.
 
The successful candidate will contribute to consolidating ISH’s position as a leading international research and post-graduate teaching institute in the field of cultural heritage or the historic environment; contribute to multi-disciplinary research efforts in one of ISH’s key strands of research, Future Heritage; provide research and consultancy leadership in their field of expertise; develop a new Masters programme in Heritage Evidence, Foresight and Policy; teach and supervise students at graduate and PhD level; foster the new Academic and Heritage Partnership between ISH and Historic England and engage in external activities that bring national and international esteem to the Institute and UCL.
 
The post is available from 1st January 2018.


Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of policy experience, research and publication in one or more of the key areas of cultural heritage, the historic environment or
foresight. She or he will have a proven track record of relevant publications and funding, and possess the skills to engage and collaborate with traditional stakeholders as well as to forge new crossdisciplinary partnerships. She or he will also have experience of teaching at post-graduate level and curriculum development, working in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Success in obtaining funding for consultancy and other third stream activities is also desirable.
