About
Slow Food in the UK challenges many of our notions of how we need to feed the world, from the mega-feedlots driving destruction of the Amazon rainforest in pursuit of food to feed cattle, to water shortages and colony collapses of bees caused by trucking more than half the bees in the USA to pollinate Almonds to produce non dairy "milk". Not only is the type of agriculture harmful to the planet it's harmful to us, as the new scientific understandings lead us to directly link our gut health to our real health. Shane will be discussing all these issues in an interactive session, where you will also be asked Can you believe it's not butter and whether the solution to bovine TB is to grow less maize.
The speaker
Shane Holland, Executive Chairman of Slow Food in the UK.
