Alex Botham is a student in the 2021-22 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
As a practising mental health social worker, Alex is concerned with how health, social care and welfare systems can adapt to their immense challenges in order to support people to enjoy dignified and fulfilling lives. Alex has been working in frontline public services since graduating university in 2015, alongside further study and training. Alex has contributed to research projects about a range of topics, including service user experience of domiciliary care for complex health conditions and the effectiveness of ecotherapy for people living with mental distress. Alex is also an alumnus of the Year Here social innovation fellowship.
