Bec Chau

Bec Chau is a Senior Research Fellow at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP).

Bec Chau
Bec is a strategic designer dedicated to improving the outcomes for communities through co-creation of the built and natural environments. As a multidisciplinary practitioner she draws upon participatory design to advance equity and redistribution of power between city-makers and citizens, uses systemic design to unlock cross-sector collaborations and new value models, and service design and user experience design to co-create new products, services and spaces balancing human and more-than-human needs.

As a Senior Research Fellow in the Public Sector Capabilities Index team, she is working to co-design a tool with city governments to support them to identify, assess and strengthen the critical skills they require to solve problems, deliver more innovative public services, and catalyse the social transformation needed to tackle the many challenges they face.
