Eliza Baring is a student in the 2021-22 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Eliza graduated from the University of Bristol a year ago, where she studied Philosophy. Eliza really enjoyed the music scene in Bristol, as well as cycling, climbing and wild swimming in and around the city. Since graduating, Eliza has worked for two charities - as a researcher for a human trafficking NGO, and a start-up philanthropic fund. This has been her first experience of policy and research work, so she is relatively new to this field. Eliza has really enjoyed working in the area, particularly writing and thinking about policy areas, including charity regulation and internet safety. Eliza is keen to do the placement in the third term of this MPA, and hopes this will help refine her sense of what she wants to do.
