Natsumi Matsumoto is a student in the 2021-22 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Natsumi is interested in new approaches using well-designed communication strategies and digitalisation to realise purpose-driven social policies. She has worked for the Japanese government for six years, focusing on social policies such as the employment of people with disabilities and the public pension system. Her work was basically based on legal and political perspectives, though she's keen to learn the latest academic and social-economic movements which can change the style of social policy approach involving multiple stakeholders. She has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
