Beatrice Melinek joins The Hub

Introducing Dr Beatrice Melinek, the new member of the team at the Future Manufacturing Hub in Targeted Healthcare
Beattie worked previously for Univercells, where she worked as a Bioprocess Engineer specialising in the purification of viral vaccines. While there, Beattie’s role involved planning, delivering and analysing an experimental assessment for the viability of purifying polio vaccine from an adapted upstream process. She also worked previously for UCL department of haematology as a postdoctoral researcher on a method for separation of empty-full capsids for an AAV gene therapy product. Beattie has an EngD in Biochemical Engineering from UCL.
Beattie is beginning a post-doctoral project focusing on the use of Cell-Free Synthesis within the context of the Hub. Beattie is based in UCL Bernard Katz in the team of Professor Dan Bracewell.
