Three-dimensional geometric morphometrics of thorax-pelvis covariation and its potential for predicting the thorax morphology: A case study on Kebara 2 Neandertal
Sandra Martell's comparative anatomy paper published in the Journal of Human Evolution was a great collaborative effort to bring the mathematical, anatomical and human evolution expertise together to try to explain how the size and shape of two complex anatomical structures - chest and pelvis - covary differently with each other when comparing chimpanzees, modern humans and Neanderthals.
