When hosting or participating in inclusive video conferences, we should be mindful of other people's needs in terms of cameras being on or off, use of backgrounds or blurred backgrounds, etc. (including emoji use, reactions, and interactivity).
The UCL Digital Accessibility team recommends asking in advance if attendees have any video communication requirements as this can be a personal preference, particularly regarding disability, neurodivergence, and intersectionality.
