This session is aimed at PhD students and postdoctoral researchers considering an academic career. It has been designed to introduce potential applicants to what is required for a successful research fellowship application and help them to prepare, at whatever stage of career they are currently, to be a high quality candidate. It will also introduce a variety of schemes and help candidates to consider which might suit them best.

Learning Outcomes:

  • What is a fellowship, and why it is important
  • Understanding the various elements of a fellowship application and what their roles are
  • Assessment criteria and review processes
  • The benefit of good structure and influence of style
  • Knowledge of a variety of fellowships from different funders, and how to find them
  • Signposting to the help available for applicants to UCL.

The session is delivered by UCL research facilitators.
