We organise / host a wide range of events and workshops which can be delivered by members of the UCL Careers team, UCL alumni or by employers / speakers from other external professional organisations.
Recruitment and networking events
- Careers fairs: A large number of recruiters gathered together at one event to promote their current vacancies giving you the chance to network with lots of employers at the same time. Individual fairs will either focus on a particular industry / sector or region (autumn term) or bring together employers from different sectors to promote summer internship or graduate job opportunities with immediate starts (summer term 'Jobs Market').
- Employer presentations: Individual companies delivering lecture style presentations about their organisations and vacancies with Q&A opportunities. (Autumn and spring terms)
- Sector insights programme : A programme of events which focus on a specific industry sector. Each sector has a varied programme of events led by industry professionals and Careers Consultants to help you learn more about each sector and build your contacts network. (Autumn and spring terms)
- Researchers' programme: An employer led series of sector specific panels / networking events aimed specifically at research students and staff. (All year round)
Skills development events
- Career Essentials programme: A series of Careers Consultant led talks covering topics such as career planning, personality profiling, job hunting, networking, writing applications and preparing for interviews and assessment centres. (All year round)
- Career Essentials Group Work Programme: A new series of small group workshops covering topics such as tailoring your CV effectively and writing speculative applications, allowing you to work with other students to develop your applications, share ideas and receive advice from the trained facilitator. (All year round)
- Employer-led skills sessions: A mix of employer-led Q&A panel sessions or interactive skill development workshops (including practice assessment centres) plus one-to-one coaching on interview skills or support with writing effective applications. (Autumn and spring terms)
- Researchers programme: For research students and staff, this bespoke programme of Careers Consultant led events will help you with next steps whether you're planning to stay in academia or looking at other options. (All year round)
