Nicole Estwick
Careers Consultant
Nicole works directly with departments in the Faculties of Arts & Humanities and Social & Historical Sciences. Alongside this, she delivers one-to-one appointments, workshops and events to students and recent graduates as part of the core careers service at UCL.
Nicole’s background is in PR & Communications where she worked with brands including Sky, HBO, Twitter, McDonalds and Ford for five years in agency and in-house roles before making the move to a career in higher education.
Glyn Jones
Careers Consultant (SLMS)
Glyn delivers core UCL Careers services and also works with the Faculty of Medical Sciences to deliver their careers provision.
Glyn’s background is in the life science industry; after studying Genetics at the University of Sheffield, Glyn went on to work at the Director’s Office of the Barts Cancer Institute before working as the Education and Careers Officer at the British Society for Immunology.
Jo Budd
Careers Consultant
Jo is a UCL Careers Consultant responsible for supporting Life and Health Sciences students with their career management, as well as being involved in the curation and delivery of the popular CareersLab YouTube series.
With a background in Psychology and over 7 years’ experience of working with students to develop career management skills, Jo is also an advocate of promoting accessible and inclusive design to careers education, both in person and for online careers learning.
Jana Dankovicova
Careers Consultant (Researchers)
Jana works specifically with PhD students and early career research staff at UCL Careers. Apart from delivering one-to-one guidance appointments and career development workshops related to both careers in academia and beyond, she is involved in the strategic development of the researchers programme at UCL Careers. Jana has been in this role since 2012 (with 7 years working at both UCL and SOAS). Jana has a background in academic research and teaching as a Research Fellow and then Lecturer.
Lee Pike
Careers Consultant
Lee is the nominated careers contact for the departments of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering & Security and Crime Science, Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, STEaPP, Institute of Finance and Technology, and the Bartlett Schools of: Sustainable Construction; Planning; Environment, Energy and Resources.
Prior to being a Careers Consultant, Lee was a Civil Engineer specialising in Transport Planning with 27 years' experience working in both the private and public sectors as well as in the UK and overseas.
Penny Longman
Senior Careers Consultant
Penny runs the UCL Careers Extra programme, supporting UK undergraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds, including students with disabilities/health conditions and those from lower income households.
Before joining UCL she was responsible for careers and higher education guidance in a school and 6th form college and undertook research into challenges students may face at university and factors which enable them to get the most out of their university experience.
Victoria Abbott
Recruitment & Selection
Victoria provides personalised one-to-one advice on a whole variety of applications. She also regularly contributes to careers-based blogs, leads small group employability sessions, and delivers research into the graduate labour market.
Prior to working at UCL, Victoria worked in HR for Local Government, specialising in Employment Law, Recruitment & Selection, and Immigration & Sponsorship. Victoria is a UCL alumni (BA Ancient World) and completed her LPC and MA at BPP Law School.
Dr Tessa Parsons
Careers Consultant (SLMS)
Tessa supports students and graduates in gaining the skills to make their next steps through one-to-one appointments and workshops. She works with students from all subject areas and is the link Careers Consultant for the Faculty of Brain Sciences. Her background is in public health research; she holds a PhD, moved to The Netherlands for her first postdoc position, and has experience in research and teaching in HE.
