IN THE MEDIA: CNIE & FORMER NICE PHD STUDENT FEATURED IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING JOURNAL SPECIAL ISSUE
28 September 2017
The December 2017 issue of the Chemical Engineering Journal, (Volume 32, Special Issue for the ChemReactor 22 conference, held in London in September 2016) features images of two articles from The Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering at UCL.
The first paper (Pattern formation in pulsed gas-solid fluidized beds – The role of granular solid mechanics) is by Kaiqiao Wu, PhD student in the NICE group, funded by an EPSRC Doctoral Training Award, together with our former CNIE postdoctoral researchers, Dr Lilian Martin, who is now Assistant Professor at Chalmers University in Sweden.
The second paper (Method for generating pore networks in porous particles of arbitrary shape, and its application to catalytic hydrogenation of benzene) is by Dr Guanghua Ye, in collaboration with the group of Professor Xinggui Zhou from East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai.
The issue also contains an article (Surface barriers as dominant mechanism to transport limitations in hierarchically structured catalysts – Application to the zeolite-catalyzed alkylation of benzene with ethylene) by a former NICE group PhD student, Dr Sanjeev Rao, now at SABIC R&D in Houston, in collaboration with the group of Professor Roger Gläser from the University of Leipzig, Germany.
The three articles were made Open Access by UCL, as they contain research that was funded, in part, by EPSRC, for the Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering and the UK Catalysis Hub.
