Read with Libby
The UCL GOSICH Library is delighted to announce a new resource available for all GOSH staff: a free digital library collection that includes ebooks and audiobooks for both professional development and pleasure reading, available through the Libby app.
Our library is available for all GOSH staff and includes well-being books, EDI books, leadership books along with personal reading (think: bestsellers at your local library!) as well as over 4,000 magazines
How do I get started?
- Libby is available on any browser through https://libbyapp.com and as an app that can be downloaded on any phone/tablet. Our direct Libby link for the browser is https://libbyapp.com/library/greatormond
Register with the library. and plese let us know you would like to use the libby app. You can join the library remotely https://www.ucl.ac.uk/library/using-library/membership-services/external-users/nhs-library-membership or you can visit the library in person Monday-Friday 9:00-18:00.
Once you have joined the library the authentication for the Libby app is the barcode on your library card and the pin you choose when they register. We will send you a card but they can start borrowing books straight away before they get the card once you know your barcode and chosen your pin
- Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf and download to the app automatically when you're on Wi-Fi, so you can read them when you're offline.
On your Shelf, tap loans at the top of the screen. From there, you can:
- Tap Read With... to choose whether you'd like to open a book in Kindle (U.S. organizations only) or Libby.
- Tap Open In Libby, Open Magazine, or Open Audiobook to start reading or listening in the app.
- Tap Manage Loan to see options like Renew Loan and Return Early. Happy reading!
