Research into hybrid geopolymer reinforced concrete
Dr Navid Ranjbar joins the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering as a researcher focusing on geopolymer concrete. He is an expert in advanced characterisation of geopolymers, experimental testing of the fibre reinforced composites, green cementitious materials and innovative materials’ treatment techniques.
His current research is mainly focused on hybrid reinforced geopolymer concrete as well as his recently introduced hot-pressed geopolymer as an ultra-high strength binder which is produced in an extremely short time. Also, he is working on fundamentals of aluminosilicate precursors, high temperature resistant geopolymers, kinetics of cementitious materials, and structural performance of geopolymers.
