CEGE technical staff receives Certification Award from the American Concrete Institute

UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) technical staff, Raman Mangabhai, receives a certification award from the American Concrete Institute.

The American Concrete Institute (ACI) recently announced its 2024 honorees, recognising professionals, groups, and companies for their exceptional contributions to the concrete industry. Among these honorees, Raman Mangabhai, technical staff from UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE), was awarded the prestigious certification from the American Concrete Institute from ACI President Antonio Nanni.

Raman is a valued member of UCL's Advanced Innovate Materials laboratory in the Chadwick building. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Raman has been a vital part of  the research and development of concrete technology and testing at CEGE. His extensive knowledge spanned various cementitious and concrete products, with applications in a wide range of industrial settings. With over ten years of experience in a leading construction company, Raman's specialities included admixtures, polymer bentonite mud, microfine cements, and much more.

Raman's dedication and expertise earned him respect in his field. He served as President of The Institute of Concrete Technology from 2017 to 2019 and was a Fellow of The Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining. Additionally, he was actively involved in various committees, including the technical advisory committee for Concrete in the Low Carbon Era, the organizing committee for UKIERI Innovations in Concrete Construction, and the waterproofing concrete for The Concrete Society.

Raman's recognition by the American Concrete Institute underscored his outstanding contributions and dedication to advancing concrete technology and testing.
