Outreach and summer schools

We run events to encourage people to study the ancient world.

Our popular summer schools are for a wide audience. Previous attendees have ranged from pre-GCSE students to adults who want to learn more about Homer. Our other events include school talks and department taster days.

The UCL Classical Play is produced by students with support from staff in the Greek and Latin department. The plays are performed in English and take place at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London. Past productions include Bacchae by Euripedes and Menander's Dyskolos.

Classics tuition scheme for schools

Our students can offer free tuition in classical subjects to schools or colleges. This can be one-to-one or group tuition. Our students volunteer their time and expertise to support the teaching of Greek, Latin, and classical studies. We usually provide this tuition to state schools or where classical subjects are not taught.

Contact the Outreach Officer for more information about our voluntary classics tuition scheme.
