UCL Centre for Law, Economics and Society Briefing 2023-24

Report cover

The Centre for Law, Economics and Society (CLES) is UCL Faculty of Law’s Centre dedicated to the study of competition law and policy and economic regulation. It promotes the study of regulatory action in all its forms (State, non-State, all forms of collective action), from a trans-disciplinary perspective, in particular drawing on law, economics, sociology, political science, and complexity science. The Centre was founded under an original concept of promoting interdisciplinary research in competition law and policy (also from a political economy, complexity science and non-neoclassical economics perspective) by Professor Ioannis Lianos in 2007. We firmly believe that law can address some of the pressing issues of our time and can generate a more just and sustainable society.
