Is this event for me?
This online session is for anyone interested in how to use climate metrics and climate data to explain what's happening with climate change. No prior knowledge of climate science is required.
However, it may be of particular interest to journalists, designers, communications specialists, social science researchers and media professionals.
Event summary
Huge amounts of climate data exist and are freely available to use. But the way this data is presented can hinder people's understanding of what's happening with climate change.
At this event, the UCL Climate Action Unit will introduce its newly-created dashboard of climate metrics and describe how we collaborated with scientists, designers and journalists to present climate data in a way that speaks to people's experiences of the world around them.
Join the session to find out why we think new climate change metrics are needed, how we brought together experts from different disciplines, and how we see climate change storytelling evolving in the future.
Accessibility
This event will be held online via Zoom only. If you have any accessibility requirements that impact your ability to participate in online events please tell us and we will endeavour to help. To contact the event Project Manager (Freya Roberts) send an email to climateactionunit@ucl.ac.uk
