Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a worldwide campaign movement for human rights as enshrined the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. It undertakes research and action to prevent or to end human rights violations. It has member groups in over 150 countries.
Medical Foundation for the care of Victims of Torture
This
is a human rights organisation in the UK. It provides medical and psychological care and rehabilitation, and practical assistance, to survivors of torture and other organised violence. It also documents evidence of torture and provides medicolegal reports to support asylum claims. It offers education to health care professionals, the public, legal profession and decision makers about torture and its consequences. It works to ensure that Britain honours its international obligations to asylum seekers and refugees.
Medecins sans Frontieres
An independent humanitarian medical aid agency which provides medical aid regardless of race, sex, religion, politics, and raising awareness of the plight of people they help.The website also has helpful information on what is happening in various countries from which refugees may arrive.
The World Health Organization (WHO)

is a United Organisations (UN) agency specialising in health, established in 1948, with the objective of the attainment for all possible people of the highest level of health. This is defined as a complete state of physical, mental and social wellbeing, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
The World Medical Organisation (WMA)

Physicians for Human Rights USA (PHRUSA)
The PHRUSA
promotes health by investigating and documenting human rights violations worldwide. It campaigns against torture, monitors prison conditions and medical care of civilians and combatants in war, and works to prevent medical complicity in torture and other abuses.
Survivors International
Survivors International
is a multidisciplinary network of health and legal workers providing free or low cost services to survivors of torture, organized violence and war. It also provides training programmes to those working with refugees and immigrant communities to promote understanding of the effects of torture.
Rehabilitation and Research Centre for Torture Victims (RCT)
This
is an independent institution based in Copenhagen providing treatment for torture survivors, documentation, and research into the effects of torture and organized violence.
International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT)
The IRCT is an independent organisation working internationally to promote and support the rehabilitation of torture survivors and the prevention of torture. It is based in Denmark but collaborates with nearly 200 rehabilitation centres worldwide.
International Red Cross
The International Committee of the Red Cross, which is organised separately by country worldwide - is a neutral and independent humanitarian organisation devoted to protecting and assisting the victims of war and organised violence.
