Family Event: Patterned Clay Bead Making with Clare

Audience: This is an intergenerational workshop, suitable for all ages and abilities. Everyone is welcome.

Objects from the Petrie Museum collection is on display at the new Silk Roads exhibition at The British Museum and to reflect this, artist Clare Sams will be running a workshop looking at our etched carnelian beads. 

Try your hand at mark making on air-dry clay to make your own bead bracelets or charms, with threading and colouring-in exercises on hand for very young audiences.

This workshop is part of UCL Museums & Cultural Programmes 2024-25 series Architecting Futures, bringing together culture, collections and research towards common hopeful futures.

Audience

The Museum is located in Bloomsbury, in the heart of central London. The nearest tube stations are Euston Square (Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith & City), Goodge Street (Northern Line), Warren Street (Victoria Line), and buses 18, 30, 73, 134 and 205 stop 3-5 minutes away on Euston Road.
