Man With A Movie Camera (1929, dir. Dziga Vertov)
Voted the best documentary of all time by film critics, Man With A Movie Camera (dir. Dziga Vertov, 1929) depicts a single day in the lives of Soviet citizens shortly after the death of Lenin. From getting out of bed to going to work and play, this is a unique fly-on-the-wall look into the optimistic beginnings of the USSR.
Made by the inventor of numerous cinematic techniques, from freeze frames to slow motion and Dutch angles, this is a must-see film for those interested in the history of film, the USSR, and social history.
The screening will be preceded by UCL’s Professor Michael Berkowitz addressing the historical significance of the film, and in particular, its relationship to the Jewish engagement with photography in this period. A question and answer session will follow. This event is part of the Festival of Early Jewish Cinema at UCL.

Ticket prices explained:
The organiser of these events understands that in the current financial climate, attending events may not be within people's budgets. As a result they are committed to keeping the full price ticket at an affordable £10.
They also understand that others may be in the more fortunate position to be able to pay more. As a result, there is the option to buy a full price ticket at a greater value ranging from £15-25. These higher priced tickets help subsidise the lower price tickets/concessions.
If you qualify for a student/disabled/aged under 18/senior citizen/unemployed/EQUITY ticket, then a £5 concession ticket is available.
If you buy a ticket for both events at £10 each, the total cost will be discounted to £15 when you reach the check out page.
