Project title: Search for di-Higgs production through HH->bbbb decay
Research Group: High Energy Physics
Supervisor(s): Prof Nikos Konstantinidis
Introduction:
My interests lie in machine learning, theoretical and high-energy physics, statistical physics and tensor networks.
Project description:
In terms of a physics process, I will be involved in the search for Higgs-pair production, a very rare but very significant process that aims to sheld light in one of the fundamental processes involving the Higgs boson, that may lead to groundbreaking discoveries and a breakthrough in our understanding of nature in the most fundamental level. In terms of technical work, I will explore novel Machine Learning techniques for pattern recognition for the reconstruction of charged particle trajectories in the ATLAS silicon tracking detectors.
First year group project: KageNova
Placement: HSBC via Alan Turing Institute
