UCL and University of London Libraries

Library Access

From the day your programme begins, you will have full access to UCL libraries, including collections and electronic resources. You will need your UCL ID card to access any UCL libraries.

Learn more about UCL libraries as well as guidance for first time users.

Other Libraries

UCL students can use other non-UCL libraries and catalogues, including where UCL has made special access arrangements with other UK institutions.

IT Services

Essential Services

Portico is used for a number of essential services. Ensure that you gain full access upon completing your pre-enrolment.

Email Setup

Your department and central UCL teams will send important information to your UCL email account. Ensure your email has been set up correctly and that you have access to your email. Once setup, please ensure that you check your UCL email on a regular basis.  

Virtual Learning

Moodle is UCL’s virtual learning environment. It hosts important information about your programme and department. Ensure that your Moodle page is set up correctly.  

Research Log 

The Research Log is UCL’s online project management and development tool specifically designed for our research students. Keeping a Log is a mandatory part of all research degrees at UCL (MPhil/PhD, EngD, DPro (Professional Doctorates) programmes, MD(Res) and MRes). To confirm your access, log in using your UCL ID and password.
