Getting Your Offer

Accepting your offer

To secure your offer, complete the necessary steps online through the UCL Portal (Portico). It is essential to ensure that you meet the terms and conditions associated with your offer.

For a clear understanding of the financial support you are eligable for, including details about your stipend, fees, and other support funding, we recommend contacting the PGR Departmental/Divisional Administrator

Most applicants get a conditional offer first. It becomes unconditional once you meet the conditions. The admissions team will contact you with more details and guidance.

International students

ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) Certificate

Certain international students may be required to apply for an ATAS certificate, issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). It grants you security clearance to study specific postgraduate programmes at UCL.

To apply for an ATAS certificate, you must have received an offer to study at UCL, and you do not need to wait for it to be unconditional.

Further information can be found on the ATAS Certificate web page.

CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) Number

Once you have received your unconditional offer, UCL will provide you with a unique 14-digit reference known as a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number.

This number is crucial for the UK Visa application process, as UKVI will use it to confirm your status as a genuine student. You should refrain from applying for a visa until you have received this number from the UCL admissions team.

Detailed information can be found on the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) web page.
