In2STEM - Student experience

In2STEM provides valuable insights from industry and research professionals, skill-building opportunities and a pathway to a wide range of STEM careers.

The Ear Institute is pleased to continue supporting young people to help them follow their passion for science. Students led by Carlos Aguilar and Marissa Flook Pereira had a busy week exploring laboratories, speaking to scientists and technicians, and had the opportunity to listen to a talk given by ENT surgeon Mr Nish Mehta.

Many found their placement an interesting, valuable experience with real insight into what it is to be a scientist. Running experiments in the lab, working with electron microscopes and sampling human studies in an anechoic chamber were among the highlights of their visit.
