Alessandra Casamento is a rotating LiDo PhD student at UCL
I completed a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Molecular & Cellular Biology, both at the University of Palermo (Italy). My Master’s project was carried out with Dr Anastasia Callaghan (University of Portsmouth), where I continued working as visiting researcher. Following this, I visited Andrea Crisanti’s lab at Imperial College London.
Here at the Ear Institute I am joining Joerg Albert’s group for a four month rotation of my PhD studies (LIDo programme) with the aim to identify sex-specific hearing genes in the major mosquito disease vectors.
Outside the lab, my passions revolve around the continent of Africa, folk dances and nature.
