Sian is a PhD Student carrying out a research project focussed at assessing the musical pitch perception, pitch production and musical development of different groups of hearing-impaired children.
She originally graduated with a BSc in Audiology back in 2007. Following this she was employed as a NHS Senior Audiologist where she performed clinical appointments with both adults and children. Her experience there made her develop an interest in how hearing-impaired children process non-speech sounds with different hearing devices/interests. Her interests lead her to return to the UCL Ear Institute to undertake PhD study.
Her PhD project has been funded by Advanced Bionics and Phonak.
