Affiliate Module Registration

This is your checklist of things to do before and after you arrive at UCL. Also look out for UCL emails in weeks before arrival which will give you more information.

Before you arrive

  • Look up modules (and their prerequisites) that you’re interested in via the Economics Module list and the Module Catalogue (for modules outside Economics)
  • Contact the teaching departments directly if you have questions about availability or prerequisites for specific modules. Remember to mention you’re an affiliate student from Economics and include your student number
  • Familiarise yourself with your timetable and check for any clashes, you can’t take modules if lectures overlap (you’ll be sent guidance on how to do this via email)
  • Complete online pre-enrolment (from early September for Term 1/Full Year students; from mid-December for Term 2 students)
  • Register your modules on Portico (you can only do this if you’ve completed online pre-enrolment)
  • Attend online induction events (International Student Orientation Webinars | International Student Online Orientation Course)

After your arrival

  • Collect your ID card after you have fully enrolled (this will give you access to UCL buildings)
  • Attend the Meet Your Department session (more details to follow in weeks before arrival)
  • Attend 1-1 appointment with the Affiliate Tutor to have your Economics module choices approved, if you want to take anything outside the recommended list of Economics modules (check your offer letter for recommended modules; instructions how to book 1-1 with Affiliate Tutor will be emailed closer to the programme start date)
  • Enter your final module choices to Portico
  • Attend Induction events (International Student Safety Seminars | Campus Tours | Societies Fairs)
