Step into a world of ingenuity when you join us for an interactive, family-friendly engineering exhibition that showcases how we're building a better future, from revolutionising zero carbon transport to transforming how we deliver healthcare.

Join us for a showcase full of hands on demos and interactive exhibits that will let you understand how our engineers are working to tackle the climate challenge, improve health, harness the power of data and reduce inequalitites. 

Exhibition highlights include:

  • 3D printed skulls - Discover what happens when engineers work with doctors to revolutionise medicine. 
  • Acoustofab - Get a taste of magic with examples of captivating liquid levitation. 
  • UCL Racing Fleet's eco-marathon car - An ultra-efficient vehicle which runs on hydrogen and is capable of over 5000 miles to the gallon equivalent.
  • Cassava starch measurement - An innovative tool that enables rapid quality assessment of this tropical root vegetable, empowering farmers in sub-Saharan Africa. 
  • Force sensing gloves - This glove provides real-time data to surgeons during procedures, which helps train future doctors. 
  • Fabric Interaction: Fab Touch - Understand how manipulated fabric rubbing sound and pure tone sound alter your tactile perception of mid-air haptics texture roughness.
  • Labrador Sea Sensor Buoy - This buoy holds sensors that offer Oceanographers vital info about our planet, and has survived extremely stormy seas in the ocean. 
  • Mobile Driving Simulator - A hands-on experience, where you can experience autonomous driving and a haptic feedback seat. 

Entrance Tickets

  • When registering, please book a Festival Entrance Ticket for each person attending the day. This ticket will grant access to the festival location, exhibition zones and general festival facilities.
  • Tickets may be booked in bulk on the website up to the limit for the specific event or activity.
  • All under 16s must be attending with an adult who understands the nature of this event and ensures the minor/s are supervised at all times.
  • Tickets are available for Friday and Saturday

BSL Interpreted Tours

If you need a BSL Interpreter, we can provide an interpreted tour of our exhibition. These can be arrange between 4pm and 5pm in Friday 19 July and 2pm and 3pm on Saturday, although you are welcome to explore the exhibition outside of these times while it is open. To arrange an interpreted tour, please email faceng.events@ucl.ac.uk, specifying the day and time you wish to attend. 

This event is part of the UCL Festival of Engineering Event a week-long festival showcasing how engineers are continuing to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing humanity.
